As you will see when you get to the chorus, this makes it easier to link the chord preceeding F by playing the open 6th string and then just wrapping your thumb over as you place your other fingers for the F chord shape. One other thing to mention about the verse is when she sings '...sounds good to me..." if you were strumming the chords, I would suggest you play the F, C and G shapes as normal, however, as you will see from the tab, if you're finger picking this, you're actually holding down an Am7 shape, not C and playing the 6th string open, this will sound a bit odd if you try and strum it ! with my second finger, hammering onto the 5th string, 3rd fret, with my fourth finger, which leaves my first finger free to play the 2nd string at the 1st fret. Once again the picking pattern changes slightly each time it gets to the G shape, utilising the variations already seen in the previous chorus'. On the record, the guitarist plays the same variation a couple of times in a row (the one shown in the third tab stave below, where it goes up onto the 1st string at the 3rd fret). Just to keep things interesting, I've tried to mix the variations up a little. One other thing, the very last time through the C, F, G and Am, F, G progression, (when Sarah isn't singing), in order to follow the bassline, when you get to F, I don't play both notes on the 6th string - play the first one but then play an open 5th string.
