Seeing the crowd, he went up on a hill

When he sat down, his dis - ciples came to him

He opened his mouth and taught them with these words.

Blessed are the poor for heaven is theirs

Blessed are the sorrowful for they shall be glad
G               Em       Am            D
Blessed are the meek for theirs is the earth

Blessed are the righteous for they shall be sa – tis - fied

Blessed are the merciful for they shall have mercy

Blessed are the pure of heart for they shall see God

Blessed are the peaceable for they shall be God’s sons

Blessed are the wronged for the kingdom of God   is    theirs

Do not be anxious saying what shall I eat

Look up a -- bove at the birds of the air

They do not sow or reap or gather into barn

Yet, your Father feeds them are you not worth

more than they

Do not be anxious saying what shall I wear

Look at the lilies of the field as they grow

Solomon in glory was never thus ar -- rayed

If God so loved the grass, how much more ye of
